Druzy blue banded crystal coral fossil

Favosites fossils also known as Charlevoix stones are an ancient fossil species made of hollow canals. This beautiful specimen has had silica enriched water fill these channels at different levels, with slightly different mineral compositions, to create the beautiful multicolored banding effect throughout the druzy pockets over millions of years. Made of a mix of calcite, barite and quartz. Found in Illinois. Hand mined, ethically sourced.
